OCTOBER 15 "And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord which I command you this day for your good?" Deuteronomy 10:12-13 The Lord has a big heart and he requires the same of us -- to fear him, walk in his ways, and to serve him with everything we've got. The call is to give him our all. Jesus, I ask for the grace not to hold back anything from you. If is all yours. I am yours. Amen.

A VERSE A DAY HELPS KEEP THE DEVIL AWAY - Short Meditations provides daily reflection and prayer based on a Scripture passage for each day of the year. As you spend time with the word of God, it will penetrate the marrow of your bones, soften your heart, and transform your life -- if you let it.

The choice and flow of the Scripture passages will lead you to know and experience just how much God loves you and wants you to live an abundant, happy life. They will also remind you that although God's love is always there for you, sin is close at hand. The problem is that all men and women have sinned and are separated from God, and as a result, cannot know God's love nor share in his life with others. Do you have to be stuck in the mire, living in darkness and defeat? God's word says absolutely not!! Jesus Christ is the answer. He is the only one who can give you the power to live a happy and abundant life. Through Jesus you can know God's love and share in his life with others. What do you need to do? Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, receive his Holy Spirit and experience His power to live this new life.

These Scripture meditations are a simple tool to be used if you want peace in your life, joy in your heart, love in your family, faith in Jesus, power to do what seems impossible. This is the new and abundant life Jesus came to give us -- and it doesn't cost us a thing, except a little time, and a sincere heart. The benefits are out of this world!

Scripture quotes are taken from the Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition of the Bible.
